5th March 2011 - Koster Fiesta Off Road Rally

Bike used - KTM 125EXC 2007 :-

Now I know that this is off the MX subject but its definitely a ride worth mentioning.  We've done this rally for three years in a row now.
The Koster Fiesta is a Charity Fun Race hosted by the local community at the beginning of March each year.  This ride has really grown in popularity.
The organisers have out done themselves this year.   The event was very well organised, the route was brilliantly marked.   The registrations and scrutineering of bikes was done fast and efficiently.   The route itself was awesome.

This year's route was done in reverse from the other years and for me this was definitely better.  The previous year you hit the technical rocky section at the end of each lap. This year you started the route off in the rocky technical section right at the beginning and you know once you're past the technical section you only have the easy flat, long straights with a few windy sections left.   It was for me definitely a much better route.
We always make a weekend of it and we end up going in a huge group.  This year we ended up being a group of about 24 people in total and 11 actual riders.

A weekend well spent - fun had by all - a ride we always talk about for weeks on end - plan for months and complete in a few hours.
Well done to everyone that completed all three laps.   I must admit its the fastest 165 kms I've ever done.

26th February 2011 Round 1 Northern Regions MX - Dirt Bronco's

Bike Used - Honda CR125 2003 :-

The week before was hectic for this first race.  Month end at work and two days away from home.  Man I almost didn't make the race.  We had to start the day off at 4am on Saturday morning, as all the ladies have to be at the track by 6:30am.
Met some new ladies at the track - new faces new friends.   That's whats so awesome about our N. Regional Ladies - they're all just so friendly and helpfull.   Encouragement all round was the order of the day.

With Gazebo's up / bikes on display - the ladies always have the best set up by far.

Pre-race jitters experienced by all - especially the newbies.  As usual though it just all ends to0 quickly.  Before you know it the days over and its time to pack up untill the next race.

Next Race : 9th April - Venue : Zeemans.

Planning tonnes of training untill then.
